Our chief programming effort at this point is the Agri-Labs Information Systems package, ALIS. This package is primarily aimed at the testing lab where soils, waters, plant tissue, feeds/forages and manure are tested. As the product has further developed, it has become more and more suitable to industrial and environmental labs, as well.
We are working on an additional program that will be useful to the agronomist or farmer who can get data from his or her lab and then create fertilizer recommendations independently, working on what-if scenarios with fertilizer prices, choosing crops, expected crop prices, and differing yields goals. (This program actually was incorporated INTO ALIS during the Fall of 2001.
Three additional products has been developed, but two are for internal use. The first package is a support program for tracking and resolving program bugs, enhancement requests, requests for assistance, and billing of related time. The second is used in our marketing efforts, to track who is contacting whom, sending automated faxes and e-mails, and scheduling followup calls. The third is a bug tracking/change request and reporting program for our internal use.
